I made it!

Update on my exams......

I made it through with flying colours and can now proceed on to the next level.  I'm happy, but totally exhaustified (that's a new word I made up...it consists of exhausted + horrified = exhaustified.  It means:  to be horrifically exhausted.)  There's another week of classes, then a very very early spring break, and then back to hitting the books.

Danas, nema sunce (today, there's no sun).  And it is cold.  And might snow.  As a Canadian though, I live with the eternal hope that the cold weather won't arrive tomorrow and instead will be replaced with sunshine, warmth, blooming tulips, green trees, and heck...maybe even wild strawberries popping up in the grass.  A girl's gotta have dreams.

hurray! hopefully the sun will arrive soon, you should head south for some sun.

I'm sorry about the olive oil, I asked hubby if he had sent you the package and he said he coudn't find your phone number, I give it to him so I expect he will be doing it very soon. otherwise I will continue to remind him. I gave you my word (which I like to keep) so you will get the olive oil.

take care!

I sent a message to your blog explaining the situation. Do not worry one more minute about it.

I'll be happy if you, the little one and your hubby are reunited happily and healthily..soon.

all the best

Alessia: I'm taking my Croatian course at Croaticum. I am in the program that goes for an entire year, and the classes run 3 hours everyday from Monday to Friday. We learn several new things every single day.

The Croatian language is quite complex. The grammar is very similar to Latin. So be prepared for an extraordinary amount of information to learn and digest.

It will be very important to attend all of the classes. And important to study what you learn every day.

Here's some advice I wish somebody had told me before I started: learn the grammar terminology of your own language so that you understand how the parts of language work before learning a new language. If you already know these terms, you will have an easier time learning Croatian. If you are not familiar with the terms I am about to list, I strongly suggest that you get a grammar book in your own language, and learn and understand these:

Nominative case
Accusative case
Dative case
Instrumental case
Genitive case
Locative case
Noun, verb, preposition, adjective, adverb
Possessive Pronouns
Pronouns
Present, Past Perfect, Future tense
Object, Subject, Direct Object

Learning what these things mean in your own language should be quite simple. When you then try to learn Croatian, you will just have to learn how to make something Locative in Croatian (instead of trying to learn what 'locative' means, how it works, what it is used for, and then remember what it is in a new language).

I hope this helps. Good luck with your course!
